Short Stay Sanctuary Home Network

We educate, encourage, and organize kind and service minded people within communities to understand the importance of pulling animals out of animal control as soon as possible. It is oftentimes a matter of life or death. Short stay sanctuary homes are needed to fill the gap space in between pulling a dog or cat out of animal control to either an animal sanctuary or permanent home.

Foster Families

This network also includes Foster Families, or people who offer their homes for longer periods of time. Sometimes, a home is needed for certain dogs and cats, for longer than a short stay visit. This is to allow your local rescue groups the ability to list the animals up for adoption. It gives them time to find the ideal home.

Missy meets Elle, her short stay sanctuary host, for the first time.

“What an incredible experience it was to be a part of Missy’s rescue journey. She stayed with us for her first night in NY, and it melted my heart to see Missy perk up and wag her tail as she explored her surroundings. Later that night she fell asleep in a pile of blankets on my lap, and it was so special to see her feel relaxed and safe when just days before she had been in an animal control facility.” I have always wanted to foster but my schedule was a barrier. Working with Animal Saints Rescue Society I’ve found a way to contribute as part of a community of kindhearted people whose small acts joined together make a big difference and save lives. I look forward to many more.”
