We believe that humans have the ability, desire, and willingness to step up and be a part of the Help Them All Initiative. It’s simply a lack of education that is preventing them from being part of this worthy movement.
Simply put, many do not know the statistics about euthanasia in the United States. 3 out of every 4 U.S. citizens believe euthanasia to control the animal population is immoral. Yet thousands of dogs and cats are still euthanized in this country every year. Our goal is to have these numbers change for the better.
Animal Saints Rescue Society seeks to educate the public through the following:
- Art exhibits, featuring artwork created by volunteer Joshua Ivey Abitz, celebrate lives saved from Animal Saints Rescue Society. The exhibits will be in public places, like free admission galleries and libraries.
- Social media messaging will show how amazing dogs and cats are from animal control. It is not the fault of the animals that they are in animal control facilities. It is the failure of the humans who did not give them the training or care needed for them to thrive.
- Animal advocacy curriculum in schools.
- Volunteer partnerships with animal adoption groups and schools, churches, and senior centers.
- Amplify the benefits of spaying and neutering.
- Celebrate animal rescue by interviewing directors of smaller grassroots animal rescues. Let them tell their stories through short films and podcasts. Show how one person can make a change for the better.
